Secolare Festival: discovery, listening and community

Since 2023 Secolare has brought new music from all over the world to the Alta Murgia, sounds yet to be discovered, in dialogue with the landscape and local communities. An open, low-impact festival that grows with the people who live it: audiences, artists, institutions and businesses.

01 · The festival

Music from around the world, rooted in the Murgia

A boutique festival at Agriturismo San Giuseppe in Corato, at the foot of the Alta Murgia National Park and a few kilometres from Castel del Monte. Landscape, local culture and hospitality are part of the artistic vision, not just a backdrop.

02 · The music

From the Mediterranean to the world, on the same stage

Secolare brings to the Alta Murgia artists rarely heard in Italy, chosen from the most exciting new names in European music and often exclusive to southern Italy. Alongside them, every year, music from the Mediterranean and the Apulian scene.

The Mediterranean at the centre

A route that starts in Beirut and ends on the Murgia

Since 2024 the Lebanese scene has been a constant presence at the festival: that summer Sandy Chamoun and Anthony Sahyoun, Sanam's voice and guitar, played a Seeds date in Corato ahead of the band's festival concert. Alongside Lebanon: Turkey with Lalalar, Catalonia with Marina Herlop, Paolo Angeli's Sardinian guitar and the Salento tradition of the Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino. An artistic direction that places Puglia at the centre of the Mediterranean, not on its margins.

Artists usually heard only at the big European festivals, in dialogue with the landscape and the communities of the Alta Murgia.

    • Discovery-led programming. Jazz, rock, electronic and world music outside the commercial circuit; all year round the team scouts festivals such as Le Guess Who?, Rewire and Ment.
